Kettering Vintage Rally and Steam Fayre 2023
On the 23rd September 2023 we were invited down to the Kettering Vintage Rally and Steam Fayre to assist with the parking of the classic cars and general stewarding.

The Saturday morning started off really cold and dreary, however, the team were up at the crack of dawn and setting up the site, making sure tape was out to mark the area for the classic cars to park as well as double checking their plan for the parking of the classic cars.

By the time that 8 am came and the parking began, the sun was out and it was the start of a glorious and sunny day. The team were spread out, directing cars where to park, as well as assiting people with their enquiries as well in a friendly and welcoming manner. The sun was out and we had to even take our jumpers off, a vast difference with the freezing cold morning.

At 10:30, the team stopped the car parking of the classic cars, and instead started to circulate the event, making sure everything was running smoothly, that any enquiries from members of the public were handled in a proper manner, and assisting other stewards where needed. We saw lots of steam engines and classic cars (some of which made us very envious) as well as an old military truck carrying a tank which looked awesome and we were able to grab a lovely picture. We continued to circulate the event until later that evening where we went and mingled with other people working at the event.

On the Sunday two of us were up bright and early again to start working at 8am, the weather was slightly more bleak, but we did not let this dampen our spirits. After having a bacon buttie cooked in our tent, we started parkiung the vitage cars again at 8am, we were even able to see some of the vintage cars that looked absolutely awesome and we were very jealous of the cars. Once again, at 10:30 am, we stopped parking the cars and started doing the role of safety stewarding, walking around the site and answering any enquiries that members of the public had. We were even able to grab a couple more fantastic snaps of the steam engines as well.
